Martin believes young people should not merely be viewed as beneficiaries of development, but as active participants in shaping the decisions and solutions that affect their lives and communities. His philosophy centres on creating opportunities for young people to acquire knowledge, develop practical skills, build confidence, and participate meaningfully in leadership and governance.
He envisions YATBA as a strong platform for youth leadership, empowerment, civic participation, human-rights advocacy, and community transformation — seeing young Africans move from the margins of decision-making to the centre of leadership, equipped with the skills, networks, values, and opportunities to become responsible leaders, innovators, and agents of positive change.
Young people should not only be prepared for the future. They should be empowered to participate in shaping the present.
